Mijn naam is Patrick Mertens, maar in creatieve kringen ben ik ook bekend als Pat Probleme, mijn alter ego dat altijd op zoek is naar nieuwe manieren om de wereld vast te leggen. Via deze site krijg je een inkijk in hoe ik de wereld zie – door mijn ogen en mijn lenzen. Fotografie is voor mij meer dan alleen het vastleggen van momenten; het is een manier om emoties, verhalen en perspectieven te delen die soms verborgen blijven.
Ik experimenteer graag met creatieve invalshoeken en ongebruikelijke benaderingen. Soms lukt dat precies zoals ik het voor ogen heb, en soms neemt het beeld een eigen leven aan. Maar dat is juist het mooie van fotografie: het is een voortdurend proces van ontdekken en leren.
Om mijn werk enigszins te structureren, heb ik mijn foto’s onderverdeeld in verschillende categorieën. Eén van die categorieën is Creative Creations, waar je zelfgemaakte fotoshopcreaties vindt. Elk van deze creaties begint met een foto die ik zelf heb geschoten, zodat ik zeker weet dat het eindresultaat iets unieks en origineels is. Soms zijn deze creaties het resultaat van urenlang werk, terwijl andere slechts subtiele aanpassingen hebben ondergaan. Ze kunnen grappig, maatschappijkritisch, frustrerend, betekenisvol of gewoon mooi zijn – dat laat ik graag aan jou over om te interpreteren. Maar één ding is zeker: ze zijn altijd origineel en persoonlijk.
Mijn portfolio is een levend project dat regelmatig wordt aangevuld met nieuwe foto’s en af en toe een frisse layout. Ik nodig je dan ook uit om af en toe eens terug te komen en te zien wat er nieuw is.

My name is Patrick Mertens, but in creative circles, I’m also known as Pat Probleme, my alter ego that’s always searching for new ways to capture the world. To give my work some structure, I’ve divided my photos into different categories. One of these categories is Creative Creations, where you’ll find my own Photoshop creations. Each of these creations starts with a photo I’ve taken myself, ensuring that the end result is something unique and original. Sometimes these creations are the result of hours of work, while others have only undergone subtle adjustments. They can be funny, socially critical, frustrating, meaningful, or simply beautiful – I’ll leave that up to you to interpret. But one thing is certain: they’re always original and personal.
